Senior Ground Control Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Ground Control Engineer with experience in Geotechnics and Hydrogeology to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability of open pits, waste dumps, and providing essential support to tailings dumps. The role requires technical expertise in slope stability, hydrogeology, dewatering design, and surface water management. This position will offer a dynamic opportunity to participate in a variety of engineering and operations tasks, providing stability to critical mine infrastructure and contributing to the success of ongoing projects.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Mechanics of soils, foundations, and evaluation for dumps for RGM and SM pits.

• Analysis of slope stability, waste dumps, and tailings,

• Deliver slopes and FBA and IRA for dump designs for each pit.

• Stability control of the bench walls, mining phases and final pit, and dumps.

• Monitoring, installation, and interpretation of geotechnical instrumentation.

• Build Geotechnical model, horizontal drilling for geotechnical and hydrogeological purposes (depressurization)with good knowledge of geotechnical standards, and ground control management.

• Organize and execute the technical and economic development of engineering proposals.

• Interact with geotechnical and hydrogeology consultants in geotechnical designs and controls.

• Preparation of geotechnical projects in OPEX and CAPEX for the continuity of the operation.

• Management of geotechnical risks in the tailings dam, open pit and waste dumps.

• Geotechnical and hydrogeological validation of mining plans according to the LOM (Life of Mine) for the short, medium, and long term.

• Disposal of materials in dumps, weekly and monthly sequencing, and supervision of compliance in mine operations.

• Geotechnical instrumentation of the open pit, waste dumps, sedimentation sumps and others.
