Environmental Specialist

As an Environmental Specialist at Rosebel Gold Mines, you will be responsible for ensuring that our operations comply with environmental regulations and standards. You will work closely with our Environmental department to develop and implement environmental management plans, monitor environmental performance, and identify opportunities for improvement. Furthermore, lead a well-motivated team that works to reach departmental objectives and targets through innovation and teamwork.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting environmental assessments and audits to identify potential environmental risks and impacts.

• Developing and implementing environmental management plans and procedures.

• Monitoring environmental performance and reporting on progress.

• Providing environmental training and support to employees and contractors.

• Engaging with stakeholders, including local communities and regulatory agencies, to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.

• Set and communicate compliance goals, audit schedules, and environmental priorities for the team.

• Ensure that environmental audits are regularly carried out and that work practices comply with all legal/regulatory requirements.
