Junior Engineer Tailings

We are seeking a Junior Tailings Engineer to join our Projects team at Rosebel Gold Mines. In this role, you will assist with a wide range of tailings engineering activities, supporting the design, monitoring, operation, and continuous improvement of Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs), water management systems, and related infrastructure. You will help ensure that all tailings management activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with operational, regulatory, and corporate standards while contributing to the successful delivery of tailings management projects.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Assist in the planning, coordination, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Tailings Storage Facilities (TSFs), water management systems, and associated infrastructure to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

• Conduct routine inspections, field observations, and monitoring of tailings facilities, including dams, pipelines, drainage systems, and instrumentation, while supporting data collection, analysis, and technical reporting.

• Support the implementation of tailings engineering designs, deposition strategies, construction activities, and maintenance programs by coordinating with internal departments, consultants, and contractors.

• Assist in the preparation of operational plans, budgets, forecasts, technical reports, and regulatory documentation related to tailings management, monitoring, and minor capital projects.

• Promote continuous improvement by researching industry best practices, supporting the implementation of new tailings technologies and standards, and actively developing technical expertise in tailings engineering and geotechnical monitoring.
