Are you creative, a self-starter and want to work as part of a high-performance in-house advertising team? Our Cape Town Marketing department is looking to add a Mid-weight Digital Designer to join us. We offer a dynamic environment in which you will be designing for a variety of business units including property, sports recruitment, studying abroad, financial services and more.
Job Overview:
You will be working in close collaboration with an energetic, in-house marketing team. The ideal candidate will have five years of experience in digital design preferably at an advertising agency, strong conceptual skills, and a portfolio that showcases creativity and technical expertise across a variety of digital channels. You will work on a range of digital projects including website design, landing pages, social media content, email templates, Google display banners, online brochures and more.
Please note this is an on-site position in our offices in Kenilworth, Cape Town.
You’re perfect for this position if you:
• Have a bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Visual Communication,
or a related field
• Have five years of experience as a digital designer, preferably within an agency or in-house
digital team
• A portfolio showcasing a diverse range of digital design across a number of digital channels
• Are proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (expertise with InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop,
Adobe After Effects is essential. Other products are a bonus)
• Experience with wireframing, prototyping and understanding user-centred design principles
• Experience creating content and sponsored ads for social media platforms, with an
understanding of platform-specific design nuances
• Can create simple animations and GIFs for digital platforms
• Can guide and mentor two junior design resources
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to
internal stakeholders
• Are flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to manage
multiple projects and deadlines
• Can implement a design concept through to a variety of executions across channels
• Are organised, deadline-driven and able to manage your time effectively of the ideal candidate
Your role and responsibilities: Among other tasks, your main responsibilities will include:
• Working alongside members of the Marketing team in developing a dynamic design presence
for each of the businesses in Sable International’s portfolio as well as the Group brand
• Designing and developing visual assets for digital campaigns, including social media posts
(Facebook/Instagram/LinkedIn/TikTok), Google display banners, email templates, digital
brochures and more
• Collaborating with other designers, copywriters, developers and business stakeholders
• Upholding brand guidelines and ensuring design elements are cohesive across various digital
touchpoints and maintaining the integrity of our Corporate Identity
• Creating animations, GIFS and basic video edits to support digital campaigns
• Keeping abreast of the latest design trends, tools and best practices within the digital landscape
