Overview:

If you're looking for the stability of a profitable, growing company with the entrepreneurial spirit of a startup, we’re hiring. SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking a Capital & Risk Analyst. As part of our Capital & Risk Management Analytics (CARMA) team, you’ll play a key role in shaping how we manage risk, deploy capital, and drive growth. This is a high-impact role where your work will directly influence reinsurance strategies, portfolio optimization, and executive decision-making. It’s a unique opportunity for someone who thrives on analytics, enjoys collaborating across functions, and wants to see their insights drive real-world results.

What you’d be doing:

  • Training CARMA Associates to produce general and carrier-specific KPIs.
  • Managing and reviewing metrics and reports produced by Associates to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Supporting executive decision making by developing and implementing financial models.
  • Guiding strategic reviews of insurance portfolios and related carrier capital.
  • Developing and deploying decision tools for evaluating portfolio decisions.
  • Systematizing and supporting the evaluation of proprietary, rating agency, and regulatory capital requirements.
  • Developing strong subject matter expertise and quantitative skills relating to catastrophe risk.
  • Leading cross-department collaboration as it pertains to reinsurance modeling and placement.
  • Providing Novel leadership with regular updates on capital needs.
  • Developing tools to quantify areas of interest across various carrier portfolios.
  • Ad hoc job duties and projects as assigned.

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis, risk management, or related fields.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Familiarity with SQL and at least one analytical programming language (e.g., Python, R).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
  • Initiative, curiosity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

 Highly preferred candidates also have:

  • Experience in property insurance, reinsurance, or catastrophe risk modeling.
  • An advanced degree (Master’s) in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline.
  • Exposure to capital management, rating agency models, or regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience mentoring or training junior team members.

CARMA:

Our Capital & Risk Management Analytics (CARMA) team is at the forefront of shaping how our company manages risk, deploys capital, and drives growth. Unlike traditional capital or risk functions that operate primarily as control units, CARMA is a decision-enablement team — building innovative models, tools, and analytics that senior leadership actively relies on to set strategy. We partner across Finance, Reinsurance, and Portfolio Management to deliver insights that directly influence how we protect our balance sheet, compete in the marketplace, and respond to emerging risks. If you’re excited by the idea of applying advanced analytics to real-world challenges and making an immediate impact on strategic decisions, CARMA is the place to build your career.
