About the role:
Responsible for safe and efficient operation of various pieces of heavy equipment to accomplish multiple duties for any department as needed. Operator is responsible to perform repetitive pre-shift /post-shift inspections and will assist in machine repair activities as considered necessary for equipment. This role (upon employment) reports to the Designated Manager of Silver Creek Materials.
What you'll do:
- Possess and maintain a can-do spirit and be a team player.
- Maintain a safe working atmosphere and identify potential risks.
- Work effectively under instruction in a team environment to achieve production goals.
- Safely and efficiently operate water truck or other heavy equipment used to access materials in the mine, process, or load.
- Read and understand machine's operations manual.
- Perform repetitive comprehensive pre/post-shift inspection of machine(s).
- Ensure routine and preventive maintenance actions on equipment are accomplished.
- Supervise equipment operation and communicate with entire team during production.
- Must be willing to be flexible, and work throughout the entire operations area as needed
Qualifications & Skills:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment in the mining, compost, and/or construction industry.
- Basic mechanical understanding and problem-solving skills.
- Must comply with background check and Drug-free Workplace Policy.
- Compliance with safety regulations as outlined by the Company and OSHA/MSHA.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended time periods.
- Ability to physically lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers / peers in job duties.
- Must be dependable and coachable.
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Valid Driver's License required.
- CDL with tanker endorsement preferred.
- Truck loading and site prep experience are a plus.
