Job Overview

About the role:

An Inert Material Recycling Sales Representative sells recycling and beneficial-reuse services for non-hazardous, chemically inactive materials, such as soil, concrete, asphalt, brick, dredge spoil, and construction debris.

What you'll do:

  • Find and pursue new inert material opportunities
  • Develop new business with contractors, developers, utilities, and municipalities
  • Manage existing accounts and long-term recycling agreements
  • Quote and negotiate pricing (per ton, per cubic yard, haul-in/haul-out)
  • Source and match recyclable materials streams to SCM
  • Coordinate logistics with dispatch, trucking, and facility operations
  • Track volumes, margins, and contracts using CRM tools
  • Stay current on environmental regulations affecting inert materials

Materials Commonly Handled:

  • Clean fill/excess soil
  • Concrete & asphalt (recycling)
  • Brick, block, and masonry
  • Dredged sediments (non-contaminated)
  • Construction & demolition debris (inert fraction)
  • New inert materials as defined by regulations and testing

  • Excavation and grading contractors
  • General contractors
  • Civil and infrastructure builders
  • Utility companies
  • Municipal public works departments
  • Industrial site operators

Qualifications & Skills:

  • B2B sales experience (construction, waste, aggregates, or environmental services preferred)
  • Strong understanding of logistics and pricing models
  • Knowledge of local/state environmental regulations
  • Relationship building and negotiation skills
  • Comfort working in the field and at job sites
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
