Strategic Data Systems is seeking a Systems Administrator II to support Security Operations Center (SOC) activities at the Tier II level. This role focuses on cybersecurity ticket management, vulnerability mitigation, compliance enforcement, and proactive monitoring of secure network environments.

Strategic Data Systems is seeking a Systems Administrator II to support Security Operations Center (SOC) activities at the Tier II level. This role focuses on cybersecurity ticket management, vulnerability mitigation, compliance enforcement, and proactive monitoring of secure network environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier II security support via phone, email, chat, and web-based ticketing systems
  • Document, assign, resolve, or escalate IT security incidents and service requests
  • Support STIG implementation and remediation efforts
  • Recommend patches, hot fixes, and countermeasures for vulnerability findings
  • Assist with endpoint security, VPN configuration, port/protocol management, and removal of unauthorized software
  • Support authenticated scanning, 802.1x, C2C, and other security configurations
  • Monitor security tools for anomalies and escalate findings to Tier III teams
  • Notify users and system administrators of non-compliant or compromised systems
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to execute quarantine and compliance processes
  • Contribute to knowledge management documentation and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Qualifications

  • Active Security+ certification
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of professional systems administration or cybersecurity experience
  • Compliance with DoD Cyber Workforce (CWF) requirements
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Strong analytical and incident response skills
