Job Overview

A leading organisation in the helicopter industry is recruiting Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, reporting to the MRO & Completions Manager.

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer is to carry out high-quality assembly and maintenance work on helicopters or components, in accordance with the latest revisions of OEM manuals, aviation standard practices, manufacturer recommendations, and SACAA or other applicable aviation regulations.

Experience working on Airbus Helicopters / Eurocopter aircraft types is required.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

• Assume full responsibility for all work signed and stamped.
• Execute all maintenance and assembly tasks to the highest standards, strictly following OEM documentation, SACAA regulations and all other relevant airworthiness requirements.
• Consistently deliver work to the standards defined in CAR 145, the organisation’s Quality Manual, and the latest Manual of Procedures.
• Contribute to knowledge transfer and support the development of junior colleagues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following responsibilities apply to the Aircraft Maintenance Engineer role:

• Ensure a consistently high standard of maintenance and assembly work.
• Ensure all aircraft and component maintenance complies with the latest revisions of:
– OEM documentation
– Internal Manual of Procedures
– Quality Management documentation aligned with relevant ISO standards
– SACAA CAR/CATS aviation legislation
• Prior to use of any spare parts or consumables, verify:
– Correctness and applicability of documentation
– Absence of damage
– Validity of expiry dates where applicable
• Maintain a strong safety mindset at all times and ensure proper reporting of incidents or irregularities.
• Ensure no maintenance or repair work proceeds without appropriate release or approval.
• Complete work-packs progressively, accurately and neatly, ensuring:
– Correct task sign-off
– Full traceability of spares used
– Proper filing of documentation
– Accurate recording of defects, rectifications and tools used

– Correct time-keeping and job card updates
• Perform and certify duplicate inspections where required.
• Maintain close communication with Stores, Planning, and the MRO & Completions Manager regarding outstanding spares, job progress, and potential issues.
• Tag and report unserviceable tools or equipment.
• Ensure tooling is within calibration limits and properly controlled.
• Maintain a neat, inventoried and fully accounted personal toolbox.
• Maintain a clean and organised working environment in line with 5S principles.
• Sign out and return technical documentation daily.
• Ensure proper labelling, blanking and storage of items removed from aircraft.
• Ensure safe and compliant packing of items for shipment, including hazardous goods and avionics.
• Adhere fully to company policies and procedures.
• Complete time sheets or electronic job cards accurately each day.
• Supervise non-licensed personnel and promote a culture of professionalism.
• Maintain a valid licence for the aircraft types certified and manage renewals proactively.
• Keep the Record of Experience (TV2/308) up to date and signed by the Chief Engineer.
• Report any irregularities and proactively support continuous improvement initiatives to ensure on-time, on-cost and on-quality delivery of airworthy aircraft.
