Job Overview

Objectives and Purpose of the Job:

To maintain zero variances for all raw & packaging material inventories / spare parts & equipment and minimizing any anomalies for bulk & finish products tonnages while ensuring the practice of safety, health, and environment by following JGC policies and procedures. The Raw Materials Clerk / Weighbridge Clerk is also responsible for assisting with security fraud & prevention to ensure conformity with incoming and outgoing materials, bulk & finished products.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ensure that all machines / equipment at the “Grain Receival Cleaning House and its surroundings” are properly cleaned, according to cleaning procedures, before and after each transfer run of maize and corn and in keeping with maintaining the integrity of raw materials/ products.

2. Receive, count and issue raw materials based on information from incoming material requisitions.

3. Ensure the storage of all raw materials located in the following areas such as but not limited to the Chill Room in Production Packing Hall 2, Grain Receival Silos 1- 5 and Bins 1 - 10 and Finished Goods Warehouse are in accordance with the company’s policies.

4. Ensure timely entry of information into the system for all incoming raw materials.

5. Assign lot number and/or other labels where necessary and determine stock storage location based on item type, operation plans and the physical capabilities of facilities.

6. Examine and inspect all storage areas and ingredients for compromise and/or expiry date and report to the supervisor.

7. Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in the store or other specified area.

8. Assist with stock counting of Raw & Packaging Materials and Engineering Stores Cycle Count.

9. Assist in the verification for inventory management by comparing them to physical stock counts and investigate discrepancies.

10. Contribute and maintain conditions that will ensure a safe and healthy working environment.

11. Demonstrate commitment to safety, health, and environment by following the policies and procedures of JGC.

12. Demonstrate commitment to maintain & continuously improve JGC’S Food Safety & Quality Management System.

13. Maintain 5’s standards in the raw material stores and in all areas where tasks are assigned.

14. Weigh all vehicles transporting bulk & finished products from the plant.

15. Prepare and maintain weighbridge records as per customer transactions.

16. Prepare documents from weighbridge records to facilitate payment of bulk haulage contractors.

17. Examine the difference between the theoretical and actual weights for bulk & finished products and report any anomalies / errors to the supervisor.

18. Report safety hazards and general non-conformances at the weighbridge station #1 and #2 to the supervisor.

19. Ensure suppliers and haulage contractors are aware of JGC operating & safety procedures.

20. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor or manager based on departmental needs.

21. Work 12-hour shifts during vessel operations, including day or night shifts, until operations are completed.

22. Respond to or return calls from the supervisor or JGC Management staff promptly.

23. Ensure that all relevant information is properly communicated to the next person during shift change before leaving.

24. Always ensure that scale tickets and delivery slip books are available and adequately stocked.

Requirements

  1. Secondary education with five passes at the CSEC level including Mathematics and English Language.
  2. Certificate in inventory / warehouse management.
