Serverfarm Critical Facilities Services seeks to deliver uninterrupted power, cooling and security to each data center in the Serverfarm portfolio.

The junior Shift Engineer is responsible for covering the shift pattern and assisting the day-to-day operation of critical facilities. They are key components of the Serverfarm commitment to safety, reliability and operational excellence as well as being the eyes and ears of the site.

Serverfarm Critical Facilities Services seeks to deliver uninterrupted power, cooling and security to each data center in the Serverfarm portfolio.

Key Accountabilities

Assist in ensuring that all MEP plant and distribution infrastructure is operated and maintained in a safe manner, to best industry practice and within manufacturers recommendations.
Monitor power and environmental conditions within all critical spaces within the facility.
Perform assigned maintenance tasks in accordance with SF practices utilizing the internal CMMS.
Assist with planning and scheduling (corrective) maintenance activities
Escort and support outside contractors, ensuring they are abiding SF work rules and processes
Respond to site events, execute appropriate EOP documentation to resolve and/or mitigate issues and communicate to manage throughout event. Assist Sr. Engineer in stabilizing the event.
Support and follow all SF Change Control policies and procedures.
Perform site rounds and report any issues found to site management.
Participate in construction and commissioning activities as directed by site management
Adhere to all Dutch safety laws and requirements
Adhere to SF corporate information, security, quality and environmental standards
Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment. To include the wearing of uniform and PPE at all times
Complete other duties as assigned by the management team
Ensure an awareness and compliance to the contractual KPI’s/SLA’s. Ensure up to date shift logs / Shift Handover documents are completed/kept at all times.
Ensure the professional image of Serverfarm is presented to clients at all times
Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works. To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works

Participate in and support MOP/SOP/EOP documentation process for site.
Participate in and support the development of site policies and standards
Work with site team members to deliver 100% uptime of critical infrastructure

Person Specifications

Education A good basic education is essential, with good written and spoken English and basic Mathematical skills.

Formally trained in electrical/mechanical maintenance.
BMS Knowledge.
Experience (Essential) of maintaining all relevant mechanical and electrical

equipment to clearly defined criteria.

Driver's license type B.

Electrical License - 250A, 630A.

High voltage license would be an advantage

Work permit at its heigh - valid would be an advantage

Training Any I.T or Data Centre qualifications would be an advantage

A good knowledge of IT equipment and their components including server, switch and blade technology.

An understanding of the Data Centre environment, and the working restrictions applicable to such environments.

Familiar with the use of Microsoft Office applications.

A good understanding of fault diagnostic techniques including the use of handheld test equipment.

Aptitudes Good communication skills, both written and verbal

Character Committed to the delivery of excellent customer service.

Self-motivated delivery of M&E tasks (both preventative and reactive)

Self-motivated, ability to work on own initiative.

Punctual and reliable.

Ability to work under pressure, with changing, and often conflicting, priorities to meet deadlines.

Able to ascend and descend vertical access equipment and able to work at heights.

Circumstances Must be willing to work 12-hour shift pattern made up days and nights, to provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns if required
