About the Role: 

Sezzle is seeking a General Manager, Loyalty & Marketplace to build and scale a high-growth business unit at the intersection of consumer engagement, merchant monetization, and fintech innovation.

This executive will own the strategy, P&L, product vision, and go-to-market execution for Sezzle’s Loyalty and Marketplace ecosystem — including rewards, offers, merchant-funded incentives, discovery experiences, and retail media opportunities.

The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial operator who has built and scaled loyalty platforms, marketplaces, or two-sided ecosystems. They bring strong commercial instincts, deep product collaboration experience, and a track record of driving measurable consumer engagement and revenue growth.

Compensation:

For this General Manager role, with 10+ years of experience, the compensation range is  $200,000 - $300,000 per year This range acknowledges the extensive expertise, leadership capabilities, and significant contributions expected at this level.

What You'll Do:

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute the long-term vision for Sezzle’s Loyalty & Marketplace ecosystem.
  • Own full P&L responsibility of loyalty and marketplace products, including revenue growth, margin optimization, and cost discipline.
  • Develop multi-year roadmap aligned with Sezzle’s broader consumer and merchant strategy.

Consumer Growth & Engagement

  • Design compelling loyalty mechanics that drive frequency, retention, and LTV.
  • Lead development of merchant-funded offers, rewards, and gamified engagement features.
  • Drive personalization and discovery strategies within Sezzle’s app and marketplace.

Merchant Monetization & Retail Media

  • Build scalable monetization models, including sponsored placements, merchant-funded promotions, affiliate revenue, and data-driven retail media solutions.
  • Partner with Sales and Merchant Success to embed loyalty and marketplace offerings into merchant contracts.
  • Identify new revenue streams that increase merchant ROI and Sezzle ARPU.

Product & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Marketing, and Sales to execute roadmap.
  • Translate business objectives into prioritized product requirements.
  • Establish KPIs and performance dashboards across engagement, revenue, and merchant ROI.

Operational Excellence

  • Build and lead a high-performing team across strategy, partnerships, and operations.
  • Establish scalable processes for merchant onboarding, campaign management, and performance reporting.
  • Drive continuous experimentation and optimization.

What We look for: 

  • 10+ years of experience in fintech, marketplaces, retail media, loyalty, or consumer tech.
  • Proven experience owning a P&L or leading a GM-style business unit.
  • Demonstrated success building or scaling a two-sided marketplace or loyalty platform.
  • Strong understanding of consumer lifecycle metrics (LTV, CAC, retention, frequency).
  • Experience with merchant-funded promotions, affiliate programs, or retail media networks.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on execution ability.
  • Data-driven decision maker with strong financial acumen.
  • Experience with data analysis and/or software engineering.
  • Exceptional leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience in BNPL, payments, or consumer financial services is a strong plus.

Success Metrics (First 12–24 Months)

  • Increased consumer frequency and retention attributable to loyalty features.
  • Material growth in merchant-funded revenue and marketplace monetization.
  • Launch of scalable retail media or sponsored merchant placements.
  • Improved merchant ROI and measurable uplift in GMV through loyalty initiatives.
  • Establishment of a repeatable operating model for marketplace growth.
