As our geothermal and industrial projects continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our Taupō team.

We're looking for a practical, hands-on professional who enjoys solving mechanical challenges, takes pride in quality workmanship, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety.

As a Mechanical Fitter, you will play a key role in the maintenance, repair, overhaul, and installation of geothermal pipeline systems, valves, steamfield equipment, and associated infrastructure. Working across workshop and site environments, you will contribute to both planned maintenance activities and critical outage projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, overhauls, and installations on geothermal pipeline systems, valves, and steamfield equipment.
  • Carry out planned and emergency outage work while minimising operational downtime.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective repair solutions.
  • Safely and efficiently utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialist fitting equipment.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, engineering specifications, and work instructions.
  • Conduct quality inspections and measurements to ensure work meets required standards and tolerances.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, project teams, and geothermal operations personnel to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, materials used, and outage work completed.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) requirements.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
