The Opportunity

Our rapidly growing company is committed to fostering development of new and rising talent in the engineering field, offering university students in their 3rd or 4th year of study eight months of valuable hands-on experience within the aviation industry.   

Our co-op program is designed to prepare students for career and employment readiness.  Interns will be assigned to a core department but could have the opportunity to participate in cross-departmental projects. 

This position is based on-site in our Kelowna, BC office.

The Hardware Engineering team is responsible for hardware design, prototype, and certification engineering activities. This includes support for production and engineering to ensure adherence to our quality system processes and standards. The team is comprised of hardware engineers and designers who work together and in concert with other groups within SKYTRAC.

A typical day could include:

  • Electrical hardware design tasks
  • Design, development, prototyping and debugging of robust analog and digital electronics
  • Production documentation for existing products, including change impact analysis
  • Be involved in regulatory compliance and obsolescence reviews
  • Documentation of design process (parameters, calculations, etc.)
  • Participation in design and FMEA reviews
  • System integration, troubleshooting and support

What You Bring

Candidate Must Have’s

  • Enrolled in a Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree program from an accredited University 
  • Pse add something like I did for DAO re years standing and commit to 8 month co-op
  • Experience with test equipment (multimeter, power supply, etc.)
  • Experience with Altium Designer, SolidWorks, MS Word,
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to interpret data
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Hobbies and interests that demonstrate hands-on experience and a deep curiosity for working with electronic devices

The hourly wage for this role is $24.00 CAD
