Job Overview

The Associate Director, Access Strategy will play a critical role in shaping and executing market access strategies in preparation for a potential product launch in the gout space. The Associate Director will play a pivotal role in ensuring patients can access innovative therapy while driving business success in a complex and evolving payer landscape.

  • This individual will be responsible for developing payer strategies, generating actionable insights, and ensuring optimal access and reimbursement for potential future therapy.
  • This role will focus on collaborating with brand marketing team(s) and agency partners to develop tools and resources that support targeted customer segments (e.g., health plans, Medicare, Medicaid, federal, pharmacy, hospital, community practices, Group Purchasing Organizations, etc.).
  • The role will also focus on building and executing innovative Pull Through tools and strategies to maximize formulary opportunities.
  • This newly created role will report to the Director of Access Strategy.
  • This is a remote position - candidates located on US EAST COAST are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Access Strategy Development
  • Lead the development of comprehensive market access strategies to support a successful launch
  • Assess payer landscape, coverage dynamics, and reimbursement pathways to inform strategy
  • Develop value propositions tailored to national and regional payers
  • Work closely with internal communications, pricing, policy, legal, health economics outcomes research, and Payer Accounts Teams and Reimbursement teams to ensure the successful implementation of key initiatives.

Pre-Launch Planning

  • Build and execute pre-launch access plans, including pricing, contracting, and evidence strategy considerations
  • Partner with HEOR, medical, and commercial teams to align on evidence generation priorities
  • Anticipate access barriers and proactively develop mitigation strategies

Payer & Stakeholder Insights

  • Generate and synthesize payer insights to inform brand strategy and decision-making
  • Monitor policy changes, competitive dynamics, and evolving reimbursement trends in the gout space
  • Translate insights into actionable recommendations for senior leadership

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Serve as the access lead across cross-functional teams including marketing, legal, medical affairs, HEOR, and field teams
  • Lead without authority to drive alignment and execution across stakeholders
  • Support development of field tools and resources (e.g., payer decks, access guides)

Launch Readiness

  • Drive key access milestones to ensure readiness for launch
  • Support development of pricing and contracting strategies
  • Partner with account teams to prepare for payer engagement
