Sodexo have leadership opportunities across our remote sites. We’re looking for Relief Village Manager to join our Mining West Portfolio to oversee and manage village operations. We want you to bring your passion for safety and people management to our team!
This is a FIFO Role, 8:6 Roaster flying out from Perth.
About the Role
You will play a critical role in the successful running of village operations. Village managers are responsible for managing multiple departments including housekeeping, catering, building & maintenance and administration. Experience managing diverse teams will be essential to succeed in this role. A current manual driver’s licence is mandatory in order to operate our site vehicles.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Manage and operate computerised accommodation packages, ensuring optimum cleaning standards through active oversight of cleaning teams and regular audits
- Champion food safety and OHS compliance across the site, implementing the Food Safety Program, HSE Manual, and Cleaning & Sanitising Manual
- Drive the site's safety culture, ensuring hazard identification, risk assessments, JHAs, toolbox talks, and safety meetings are embedded in daily operations
- Lead incident and non-conformance reporting, investigation, and follow-up, ensuring full compliance with Sodexo Remote Sites protocols
- Take ownership of financial performance, including P&L accountability, labour cost control, food cost management, and budget delivery
- Oversee WasteWatch/LeanPath compliance, ensuring accurate, timely recording of food waste across every shift
- Identify training needs and deliver training packages in line with company policy, using Ingenium and DataStation to monitor requirements
- Conduct performance reviews, mentor direct reports, and support the ongoing development of your team
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with client representatives, ensuring contractual compliance and optimised client satisfaction
- Maintain company vehicles, plant, and equipment in safe, roadworthy, and compliant condition
- Ensure timely reporting to the Support Centre, including site summaries, banking details, and operational reports
About You
You’ll have a client and consumer centric approach to service. Financial acumen, implementing cost saving initiatives, systems utilisation, compliance and reporting are all skills that you possess, but people management skills are where you excel. You will be required to identify areas for improvement and utilise our systems, policies and procedures with a view towards improving the efficiency of village operations.
You are a food safety champion and will be familiar with HACCP compliance and remote site HSE requirements. Your strongest management skills will be related to people, teams and culture. You will have the ability to build and support team cohesion and will be a safety leader for all employees on site. You’ll have a proven ability to negotiate, influence, listen, guide and interact effectively with people at all levels of the business.
