Job Overview
Director, Digital to support SM Hong Kong label on music releases and promotion on streaming platforms. This position will be responsible for local and international repertoires streaming performance in all local and international DSPs. This position is overseeing all aspects of DSP, and act as the key business contact for SME Hong Kong to interface with the platform. Responsible to digital revenue growth, streaming and market share for Hong Kong market. The needs to grow the domestic digital content and increase the viewing and viral rates. Manage & maintain relationship with current local and new local digital partners.
Supporting the day to day management of Digital team’s digital sales & digital operations, and contributes to the ideation, development and execution of campaigns with digital partners.
This role is also overseeing the distributions and licensing deals, including but not limited to new or renewal contract signing, digital supply chain from order to delivery, providing research on operations, and implementing process improvements. This is a unique opportunity to influence how music reaches listeners around the world.
Drive chart-topping performance through deep market insights and comprehensive analysis of Hong Kong music trends. Continuously monitor competitor strategies and market share dynamics to identify opportunities. Leverage data-driven intelligence to shape trend strategies and optimize streaming outcomes for maximum impact.
What you will do:
DSP Management and Account Operation
- Manage overall digital strategy with Digital Service Providers (DSP).
- Maintain a strong relationship with all digital streaming platforms and explore more new digital business partners into our digital supply chains.
- Lead the team to manage the digital content on each streaming platform and communicate with platform interface personnel on key streaming services.
- Monitor daily performance and flag noteworthy metrics/suggest optimization pivots based on preliminary data. Also keep an eye on the performance of your competitors.
- Continually build upon and improve our operations, identifying inefficiencies and suggesting improvements to current processes.
- Develop and maintain digital ecosystem by identify new revenue stream channels & opportunities.
- Create compelling pitches for artists to excite and engage partners
- Lead frequent partner calls and business presentations with the accounts
Budgeting and reporting
- Work with the digital team to define budgets and manage the DSPs streaming patterns of budget spend.
Cooperation with different stakeholders
- Working closely with Global Digital Business and Digital Partnership team to ensure all terms agreed within partnership are fully implemented.
- Ensure close communication with A&R, & Marketing departments to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of upcoming project asset metadata releases.
- In our partnership, we build strong relationships with different department in Hong Kong to continuously improve existing processes and strategies to achieve significant operational efficiencies.
Marketing Support & Creativity
- Leading digital revenue & operations performance, revenue scale up and overall digital music performance across all platforms.
- Manage accounts through relationship cultivation in an effort to grow each account’s business, maximize revenue and exposure for artists.
- Monitor top priority releases, making recommendations, lead the team to leverage varies promotion resources, including but not limit banner spot, fan club, platform interview, etc, drive initiatives for our music to maximize sales and exposure.
- In liaison with Domestic, International marketing teams to provide best practice approach and strategy towards all global, regional and local key releases.
- Coordinate with Domestic BD team, digital agency or brand supporting on-demand digital campaign.
- Work with Data Insight team and handle internal & external analytics tools to track progress & campaign measure.
- Maximize & identified SME catalogue repertoire performance both domestic & international to drive more stream across all key partners.
- Propose and execute marketing and platform campaigns with timely featured positioning for our artists, new & catalog releases, and other strategic initiatives
- Interpret data to form actionable intelligence that helps shape and sustain campaigns

New Business Development
- Continuously explore new distribution and new revenue possibilities.
- Build strategic revenue beyond core music streaming by digital platforms and communities through social and gaming tools, to create immersive experiences.
- Engineer collaborative projects that attract the attention of music fans and increase the company's market share and revenue to sustain competitiveness.
People Development
- responsible for driving, motivating, engaging team members in sales, analytics and business development in a high-performance and high-accountability environment, and add to their personal/professional growth.
Who you are:
Experience
- University graduate in any disciplines but degrees of relevant subjects are preferred
- Passionate with track records of success in driving sales & streaming strategy
- At least 8-10 years of relevant working experience, with passion in music & entertainment will also be considered
- Rich experience in digital content, copyright, label copy and distribution
- Experience working with digital industry or digital agencies will be advantageous
- Skillful with technical, operational, and commercial aspects of digital content management and distribution
- Solid overall understanding of different roles throughout streaming platforms and recording company
Technical capabilities
- Strong knowledge of key digital formats, digital distribution systems, music and media industries
- Google cert or any related requirements about Digital Marketing/Data Analytics’ literacies
- Proficient knowledge of copyright
- Strong familiarity with the business applications of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc.)
- Strong analytical skills and data driven thinking
- Strong understanding of technology trends, market best practice and digital marketing tools
- Creative, bright, pragmatic and dedicated, with strong relationship management and consulting skills
Behavioural capabilities
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and sharp time/project management skills.
- Experience acting as a central coordination and communication point with various senior and key stakeholders internally and externally
- Skilled at navigating multiple or conflicting requirements between different parties and determining and negotiating the best overall solution
Other
- A team player, happy working independently but also to collaborate with colleagues in a matrixed organization.
- Well-versed in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in English (written and spoken).
