Maintenance Supervisor

Job Title: Facility Systems Supervisor (Physical Security & Maintenance Focus)

Location: Hybrid (no exceptions) – Local candidates only (non-locals must commit to relocation from Day 1).

Work Schedule: Must be available nights, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee operation, maintenance, and repair of facility systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, infrastructure).
• Conduct inspections, coordinate repairs, and manage a team of technicians.
• Develop and implement proactive physical security measures for NJ TRANSIT facilities.
• Supervise card access, key control, alarm systems (including centralized alarms), and database/security maintenance.
• Act as River LINE representative on building committees; review blueprints and recommend security features for new/rehab facilities.
• Manage contracted security services, perform compliance checks.
• Investigate false alarms, identify issues (e.g., user error, equipment failure), and recommend fixes.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field (or equivalent experience: 1 year related experience substitutes for 1 year of education).
• 3+ years of experience with physical security systems (alarm systems, card access, key control).
• Must pass a police background check.

Required Skills (3+ years experience each):

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of basic budgeting and planning processes.
• Technical expertise in facility maintenance.
• Strong project management skills.
