The Music team owns Spotify’s end to end proposition for music creators and the experiences they create for fans. The team is dedicated to building tools and services to enable creation, promotion, expression, and monetization at scale.

We are looking for an experienced Editor to join Spotify’s Music Editorial team based in Seoul. In this role, you will contribute to shaping highly engaging music experiences for listeners in South Korea by combining cultural expertise, creative editorial judgment, and data-informed decision making. You will report into the Editorial Lead, South Korea.

As an Editor, you will curate and evolve a broad portfolio of playlists and editorial formats, identify emerging music trends and artists, and collaborate closely with regional and global teams across Spotify. Your work will extend beyond playlists, helping to ensure a cohesive, trusted, and culturally relevant editorial voice across moods, moments, and genres.

What You'll Do

  • Curate cohesive and engaging playlists across a wide range of genres and moods, tailored to local audiences
  • Actively listen to new music and identify emerging trends, artists, and cultural movements in the local and global music landscape
  • Use user behavior and performance data to evaluate editorial hypotheses and optimize playlist engagement
  • Contribute creative editorial ideas and formats that bring playlists and music stories to life, occasionally participating in written, video, or audio content
  • Collaborate with regional and global editorial teams on programming initiatives and strategic priorities
  • Work cross-functionally with teams such as Artist & Label Partnerships, Marketing, and Product to integrate cultural insights into broader workflows
  • Support artist discovery efforts through Spotify’s editorial ecosystem, helping artists reach and grow their audiences
  • Maintain an unbiased, professional editorial voice that reflects Spotify’s role in the local music ecosystem

Who You Are

  • You have at least 5–8 years of experience in the music industry, digital programming, journalism, or music curation for major media outlets/streaming services
  • You are deeply engaged with music and culture, with strong knowledge of the South Korean market and its evolving trends
  • You have broad genre fluency and can curate across diverse styles, moods, and listener contexts
  • You are comfortable interpreting data and analytics to inform editorial decisions and improve performance
  • You balance cultural intuition with critical thinking, evaluating audience behavior beyond surface-level signals
  • You are an excellent communicator, capable of connecting with audiences through written copy and occasional multimedia formats
  • You are proficient in written and spoken Korean and English
  • You are organized, adaptable, and collaborative, and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • You are comfortable working with Google Suite and basic visual asset workflows in collaboration with design teams

  • This role is based in Seoul
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home
