Job Overview

Spotify’s story is one of constant reinvention and how we tell it has never mattered more. As Associate Director, Global Head of Content Strategy & Publishing, you will evolve Spotify’s owned editorial ecosystem, shaping how audiences around the world experience the Spotify story.

This role leads Spotify’s global owned editorial and distribution strategy across platforms including For the Record, Substack, @SpotifyNews (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, TikTok), executive social presence, and emerging social- and community-driven formats. You will treat these channels not as supporting assets, but as primary media properties—social-first, real-time, and designed to meet audiences where they are with clarity, creativity, and credibility.

A deep understanding of the modern media landscape is essential, including how audiences discover content, how platforms reward native storytelling, and how AI is reshaping search, distribution, and creation.

This role requires a blend of strategist, editor, and on-camera storyteller. In addition to setting vision and leading teams, you will serve as a visible, credible on-camera voice for Spotify, translating complex ideas into compelling, social-first storytelling across video platforms. Over time, this role may also act as an external spokesperson through interviews, explainers, and editorial franchises designed for digital audiences.

You will partner closely with global and regional communications leaders to embed owned editorial as a foundational element of every communications strategy and serve as a key internal resource and counselor on how brands show up directly in culture today.
You’ll also lead a small but mighty team of social strategists and editors, along with partnering closely with agency partners as needed.
