DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Equipment or Machine Operators, operate a variety of railway specific equipment both on and off track and within federally regulated railway rights of way.
This role is specifically assigned to Jack and Boring duties which includes operation of a 360 (or equivalent)
excavator to support Jack and Bore operations, including machine positioning, pipe feeding, placing rip rap, and final ditching to match water channels at project site. This requires experience with track-type skid loaders and some experience with wheel loaders.

PRIMARY / ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain REMCAN LLC safety guidelines & policies at all times
- Responsible to conduct mechanical & safety inspections as required and perform necessary maintenance and repairs
- Responsible for various administrative tasks in regards to production reports, timekeeping, etc
- Perform general labour with crew as required
- Ability to demonstrate the ability to work unsupervised as well as in a team
- Mechanically inclined and ability to perform general maintenance on assigned equipment
- Ability to work all types of shifts as required – able to work in inclement weather all year round and able to travel to remote work locations as required
- Working knowledge of basic computer skills
SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT REQUIRES:
- Valid driver’s license (CDL Preferred) – you will be assigned an F-350 to operate
- Clean MVR
- At least 3 years railway experience
- Able to pass all required railway operating rules examinations
- Able to secure and maintain eRailsafe certification back ground check
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must
regularly lift and/or move heavy weights. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; reach with hands
and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and may be required to work nights, holidays, and weekends. The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. May be exposed to live track/trains and high voltage. Exposure to harsh weather conditions including very hot and very cold weather.
