The inspector will perform advanced visual inspection, dimensional measurement, depth gauge measurement, and Shore A durometer hardness inspection, ensuring all inspection findings conform to engineering drawings, technical specifications, and product definition data.
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Inspector Level II to perform source inspections at supplier locations. This is a part-time, field-based role with a flexible schedule, supporting multiple supplier sites.

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Inspector Level II to perform source inspections at supplier locations. This is a part-time, field-based role with a flexible schedule, supporting multiple supplier sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform source inspections at external suppliers for mechanical components, assemblies, and special processes
- Conduct in-process and final inspections, including witness inspections of critical features
- Inspect precision components to verify conformance to drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Measure parts with tight tolerances using appropriate inspection tools and surface plates
- Compile and complete inspection reports and documentation packages
- Verify inspection methods and equipment are capable and appropriate for detecting defects
- Ensure inspection processes align with engineering intent and quality requirements
- Review and validate any deviations or items not inspected at final stage
- Audit supplier compliance to inspection plans and quality procedures
- Confirm product cleanliness and absence of foreign object debris (FOD)
- Verify proper assembly practices and adherence to specification requirements
- Ensure proper handling, preservation, and packaging of inspected materials
- Review shipping documentation for accuracy, traceability, and completeness
Qualifications:
- Experience in mechanical inspection, preferably in manufacturing or aerospace environments
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Hands-on experience with precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, surface plate)
- Strong understanding of inspection processes, tolerances, and quality standards
- High attention to detail and strong documentation skills
