R&D Chemist (Water Treatment Chemicals Factory)
Job Overview
Job Purpose:
To carry out research and development activities to improve existing chemical products and develop new formulations for water treatment applications, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Product Development:
- Develop and enhance water treatment chemicals such as antiscalants, dispersants, coagulants, and corrosion inhibitors.
- Conduct laboratory experiments to improve product performance and reduce costs.
- Design new formulations according to customer needs and market requirements.
- Testing and Analysis:
- Perform laboratory tests on raw materials and finished products.
- Analyze chemical and physical properties to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Record and interpret test results and prepare technical reports.
- Technical Support and Coordination:
- Work closely with the production team to apply new or modified formulations.
- Provide technical assistance to the sales team and customers when required.
- Evaluate and recommend new raw materials in cooperation with suppliers.
- Quality and Safety Compliance:
- Follow ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements.
- Ensure all laboratory and production activities comply with MSDS and safety standards.
- Participate in quality improvement and cost optimization projects.
- Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain organized and detailed R&D records, test reports, and formulation data
Prepare periodic reports highlighting research progress and recommendations
Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from a recognized university.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in water treatment chemicals or related chemical industries.
- Good knowledge of water treatment processes (cooling towers, boilers, wastewater).
- Familiarity with laboratory instruments and analytical techniques.
- Good command of English (spoken and written).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and lab data systems.
