Horticultural Technician, Grounds

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the Grounds Supervisor, the horticultural technician is responsible for the care and maintenance of the irrigation system, the turf areas, equipment (hand, gas and electric) care and maintenance and other assignments given to him by the Grounds Supervisor. Have the ability to anticipate problems and solve these with minimal downtime. Will be responsible for maintaining a part inventory and work with the grounds' supervisor to maintain the operation at maximum efficiency.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

* Maintains the grounds of the hospital.
* Cuts and waters lawns.
* Maintains other plants.
* Operates and maintains electrical and gas-powered gardening equipment including mowers.
* Operates and maintains sprinkler systems.
* Recognizes and eliminates potential hazards associated with adults and children.
