JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Cardiovascular Clinical Service Manager and in partnership with the Cardiology Medical Directors this role provides comprehensive clinical and administrative management for cardiac health programs. This position is designed to offer comprehensive clinical and administrative management of cardiac health programs. This program manager role will focus on the Single Ventricle Program and other programs or initiatives as assigned. The Program Manager shall be responsible for the development and attainment of the service mission, short and long term goals, operational goals and objectives identified for the service, both clinical and operational. The Program Manager and the Medical Director will collaboratively work to assure quality diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients and Medical Staff. The Program Manager will work closely to coordinate needed operational planning activities for the overall benefit of the program. Coordinates and integrates diagnostic and therapeutic services programs and operational changes with other LPCHS and SHC department leaders for proper implementation of services throughout the hospitals. Develops strong working relationships with Directors, Physicians, Managers, staff and patients and families as well as community cardiologists. It is expected that this individual will be a strong program builder as well as strategic thinker who has a proven track record in the field of Pediatric Cardiology.

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.
* Acts as liaison between staff, physicians, other health professionals and administration.
* Assists the Children's Heart Center Service Line Director, the Director of Business Development for Cardiovascular Health at Stanford and Medical Directors set and achieve strategic programmatic goals across sites of service.
* Assures the Quality Improvement Program is developed, implemented, and appropriately responsive to the quality needs and opportunities of the patient care arena.
* Builds a collaborative network to ensure patients have access to high quality primary care as well as a wide spectrum of pediatric and adult subspecialty providers.
* Builds the avenue for collaborative learning and clinical research.
* Collaborates with LPCH/SHC/SoM professionals to design and implement clinical research projects with adherence to standard policy and procedure and actively participates in research study design, survey methodology, data analysis and results reporting.
* Directs and controls operating expenses to meet budgetary requirements.
* Ensures operations are in compliance with applicable regulatory and professional standards (JCAHO, Title XXIII, etc.)
* Ensures proper departmental in-servicing and training to meet licensure requirements.
* Monitors all aspects of Quality Assurance and Improvement in the programs.
* Participates in the development, implementation and maintenance of program standards, procedures and protocols with input from the Medical Director as required.
* Prepares annual operating and capital equipment budgets for the program: monitors monthly budget reports, explaining any operational variances as needed in accordance with Program goals.
* Promotes and role models Collaborative Practice with other Healthcare disciplines.
* Provides expertise and analysis regarding reimbursement and makes recommendations for business decisions.
* Reviews department operations for cost and efficiency implements improvements, as appropriate.
