The Special Procedure Technologist Level I (SPT I) is an entry level training position. Under supervision, provides basic knowledge and competence in radiologic technology, imaging, devices, and provides scrub assistance for one of the following specialties: Pediatric Interventional (Body, Neuro, Pain), Pediatric Cardiac Cath or Electrophysiologic Procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.
*Under direct supervision, assists the physician(s) during cardiovascular, interventional, neurovascular, and pediatric angiographic or other diagnostic or therapeutic imaging procedures.
*Assists in the operation of fixed and mobile angiographic equipment including x-ray system controls, diagnostic and digital image archival and power injectors.
*Performs required quality control procedures on equipment and initiates repair as necessary to maintain safe usage.
*Provides scrub assistance during procedures.
*Provide aid during intervention cases. (Ex. Prepping balloon, stent deployment, valve crimping and other tasks).
*Sets modality parameters on fixed and mobile angiography equipment.
*Enters data such as patient demographics in imaging equipment.
*Correctly archives images in Cardiac PACS and Radiology PACS.
*Provides basic understanding of imaging techniques, protocols and equipment functions.
*Operates ancillary equipment at the basic level; enters demographics, usage, needed supplies, measurement, archival.
*Provides basic understanding on ancillary and Cath Angio equipment (Angio Jet, Volcano, U/S, IVUS) used in services.
*Performs routine cleaning of procedural area and equipment.
*Stocks assigned room with appropriate supplies needed for procedures.
*Provides basic knowledge on service specific supplies (wire, sheaths and catheters).
*Provides basic knowledge on sterile technique.
*Verifies and completes all documentation to include, EPIC and Inventory systems.
