STEM School Highlands Ranch is seeking a dynamic and student-centered Girls Varsity Basketball Coach to lead and develop a competitive high school basketball program that reflects the values and mission of our school community.

Position Summary
The Head Girls Basketball Coach is responsible for the organization, development, and implementation of all aspects of the girls basketball program. This includes establishing a clear program vision, leading player development, coordinating offseason training opportunities, fostering a positive team culture, and supervising assistant coaches.
The ideal candidate will possess strong basketball knowledge, leadership skills, and a passion for mentoring student-athletes. They will be committed to supporting the growth of students both on and off the court while representing STEM School Highlands Ranch with professionalism and integrity.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive vision for the girls basketball program.
- Plan and conduct practices that promote skill development, teamwork, and competitive excellence.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and student-centered team culture.
- Support the academic success, character development, and well-being of student-athletes.
- Coordinate offseason training, camps, and player development opportunities.
- Recruit, supervise, and collaborate with assistant coaches.
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, school personnel, and community stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all CHSAA, district, and school policies and regulations.
- Promote sportsmanship, leadership, and positive representation of STEM School Highlands Ranch.
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, counselors, and athletic department staff to support student success.
- Attend required meetings, professional development opportunities, and athletic department events.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous coaching experience at the high school, club, collegiate, or equivalent competitive level.
- Demonstrated commitment to developing the whole student-athlete.
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Experience building and sustaining a positive team culture.
- Commitment to academic accountability and student well-being.
- Ability to engage families and foster strong community relationships.
- Knowledge of and compliance with CHSAA rules and regulations.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Occasional lifting of 5 to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand or walk for 90 minutes.
- Ability to run short distances.
- Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, crawling, squatting, reaching, and sitting.
Compensation:
This position is a stipend-based coaching role of $3,000/year.
