About the role
The Accountant is responsible for processing vendor invoices, ensuring timely payments, maintaining accurate records, and supporting day-to-day accounting operations.
What you'll do
- Process and verify vendor invoices with accuracy and timeliness
- Manage weekly payment runs and vendor payments
- Reconcile Accounts Payable accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain vendor files, W-9s, and payment documentation
- Respond to vendor inquiries and internal payment requests
- Assist with tax communication and auditing in conjunction with accounting department
- Prepare, track, and process annual 1099 forms
- Assist with month-end and year-end close, including accruals and reconciliations
- Provide general accounting and administrative support as needed
- Willing to take ownership and take on other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience accepted
- 1-3 years of accounting experience, including accounts payable
- Experience with accounting software, Rootstock is a plus
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Excel and data entry
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Comfortable working in a high-stress, face-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Excellent time management, organizational, and analytical skills
- Self-starter who can find and resolve issues as they are identified
- Ability to successfully interface with a wide range of personnel within the organization
