About the role

The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring automotive parts and materials to support forecasts and ensure timely delivery of products. This role collaborates closely with suppliers, sales, customer service, warehousing operations, and accounting to optimize inventory levels and contribute to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the organization.

What you'll do

  • Purchasing automotive parts, materials and supplies required for production.
  • Ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement of goods.
  • Communicating cross vertically to ensure the business is aware of supply chain conditions such as stock out, inventory surplus, extended delivery times, etc.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies
  • Managing inventory levels and ensuring adequate stock based on forecast, supplier and internal intel, and historical trends.
  • Maintaining product lifecycle.
  • Updating and maintaining item master data.
  • Updating and maintaining purchase order, and inner company transfer data.
  • Upload and maintain monthly supplier pricing.
  • Upload and maintain daily inventory files to suppliers.
  • Ensuring supplier compliance with procurement policies and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is typically required.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
  • Experience with supply chain analytics methodologies.
  • Experience with ERP and WMS systems.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
