Job Overview

The Emergency Medicine Physician plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of the emergency department, ensuring high-quality patient care and smooth workflow. This position involves working closely with medical staff to assess, treat, and manage patients in urgent situations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency medicine and related fields, demonstrating proficiency in various medical procedures and technologies.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments and triage cases effectively.
  • Manage emergency situations with appropriate interventions, including airway management and IV infusion.
  • Utilize EHR and EMR systems for accurate documentation and patient records management.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care across various specialties such as cardiology, gastroenterology, and pediatrics.
  • Assist in perioperative care and post-operative management of patients.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives to improve emergency medicine practices.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient information.
  • Provide health coaching and education to patients regarding their conditions and treatment plans.
  • Engage in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care post-emergency treatment.

Candidates should have a robust background in emergency medicine or related fields, including but not limited to:

  • Experience with medical imaging technologies such as CT scans and mammography.
  • Familiarity with critical care environments, including ICU experience and trauma medicine.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding, and clinical trials.
  • Proficiency in performing procedures such as suturing, catheterization, and wound care.
  • Background in various specialties like psychiatry, endocrinology, oncology, pediatrics, and geriatrics is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center is preferred. The Emergency Medicine Registrar position offers an opportunity to be part of a dynamic healthcare team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in high-pressure situations.
