Job Overview
The Emergency Medicine Physician plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of the emergency department, ensuring high-quality patient care and smooth workflow. This position involves working closely with medical staff to assess, treat, and manage patients in urgent situations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency medicine and related fields, demonstrating proficiency in various medical procedures and technologies.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and triage cases effectively.
- Manage emergency situations with appropriate interventions, including airway management and IV infusion.
- Utilize EHR and EMR systems for accurate documentation and patient records management.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care across various specialties such as cardiology, gastroenterology, and pediatrics.
- Assist in perioperative care and post-operative management of patients.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives to improve emergency medicine practices.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient information.
- Provide health coaching and education to patients regarding their conditions and treatment plans.
- Engage in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care post-emergency treatment.
Candidates should have a robust background in emergency medicine or related fields, including but not limited to:
- Experience with medical imaging technologies such as CT scans and mammography.
- Familiarity with critical care environments, including ICU experience and trauma medicine.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD coding, and clinical trials.
- Proficiency in performing procedures such as suturing, catheterization, and wound care.
- Background in various specialties like psychiatry, endocrinology, oncology, pediatrics, and geriatrics is highly desirable.
