Senior HR Advisor

Job Overview

As a Senior HR Advisor, you will act as the primary contact for managers within your portfolio. You will provide strategic and tactical HR advice, contribute to workforce planning and team development, and translate HR policies into daily practice. With your experience and organizational sensitivity, you will make a visible impact on complex HR issues and play a key role in the professionalization of HR within the Koninklijke Bibliotheek (KB).

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise managers on HR matters such as performance, employability, and team development.
  • Guide processes related to employee inflow, progression, and outflow.
  • Handle case management including absence, performance, and labor relations.
  • Contribute to HR projects such as onboarding, leadership development, and HR policy execution.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow HR advisors, the back office, absence specialist, and recruitment team to further strengthen the HR function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (HRM, Public Administration, or Organizational Psychology preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience as an HR Advisor or HR Business Partner.
  • Proven experience advising at a tactical level, including personnel processes and absence case management.
  • Strong organizational sensitivity and decisiveness; able to balance strategy and execution effectively.
  • Experience working with works councils is a plus.
  • Willingness to work 70–75% of the time on-site in The Hague.
  • Strong command on Dutch.
