Job Overview

Key Competencies: An Investment Counsellor combines strong financial acumen with client focused advisory skills to deliver tailored investment strategies. Key competencies include deep knowledge of markets and financial products, effective communication, ethical integrity, and strong analytical thinking. The role demands the ability to manage Distributor & client relationships, assess risk, solve problems efficiently, and stay current with industry trends—all while maintaining high standards of professionalism and time management.

 

Key Performance Indicators

· Provide Investment Advice – Offer tailored investment strategies based on clients' financial goals, risk tolerance, and market conditions. Products include MF with focus on PMS, AIF’s & Passives.

· Support Business Development – Identify opportunities to expand Alternates & Passives strategies. Cross Sell MF ideas amongst distribution.

· Support Collateral & content Creation: Liaison with Marketing Team and Fund Management Team to develop sales & marketing materials.

Wealth Creation

· Stay Informed on Market Trends – Monitor financial markets, economic indicators, and industry news to guide investment decisions.

· Educate Distributors – Help distributors understand different investments products, their risks, and market developments.

 

Compliance & Others

· Ensure Regulatory Compliance – Adhere to financial regulations, ethical standards, and internal policies.

· Collaborate with Internal Teams – Work with analysts, and relationship managers, Channel Head’s to deliver holistic solutions.

Requirements

1. Financial Knowledge:

·  In-depth understanding of financial markets, investment products, portfolio management.

2. Analytical Skills:

·  Ability to analyze financial data and trends to make informed investment recommendations.

3. Communication

·  Strong verbal and written communication skills for explaining complex financial concepts in a simple manner to clients.

4. Relationship Management:

·  Ability to build, maintain, and strengthen long-term relationships with clients or Distributors.

5.Problem-Solving:

·  Capable of assessing situations, identifying challenges, and providing strategic solutions.

6. Sales and Business Development:

·  Ability to market investment products and grow a distribution base through proactive outreach.

7. Ethical Judgement:

·  Strong commitment to ethical standards and regulatory compliance in all dealings

8. Risk Management:

·  Skill in assessing investment risks and ensuring that portfolios align with clients’ risk tolerance.

9. Time Management:

·  Ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines, and tasks efficiently

10. Technology Proficiency:

·  Familiarity with financial software, portfolio management tools, and data analysis platforms.
