Workday Compensation Specialist
Position Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Workday Compensation Specialist with 5+ years of hands-on experience in configuring, managing, and optimizing Workday Compensation modules. The successful candidate will lead the end-to-end design, deployment, and ongoing support of compensation processes within Workday, ensuring seamless and compliant compensation cycles that meet strategic business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain, and enhance the Workday Compensation module, including compensation plans, grades, bonus programmes, merit cycles, and advanced compensation processes.
- Lead and support annual compensation cycles (merit, bonus, stock, and other programmes) using Workday Advanced Compensation functionality.
- Partner with HR, compensation, payroll, and business leaders to gather requirements and translate them into effective Workday solutions.
- Analyze, design, and document compensation business processes and data flows within Workday.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, data discrepancies, and process gaps related to compensation.
- Develop, test, and deploy new compensation plans, rules, and processes aligning with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Generate advanced reports and analytics to support compensation planning, modelling, and compliance.
- Provide training, support, and clear documentation to HR teams and business users on Workday Compensation features and best practices.
- Stay abreast of Workday updates/releases and proactively assess and implement relevant new features.
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of direct, hands-on experience with Workday Compensation and Advanced Compensation modules.
- Deep understanding of global, federal, and local compensation principles and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated expertise in configuring complex merit, bonus, and stock plans within Workday.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data validation, compensation modeling, and reporting.
- Proven ability to gather business requirements, document processes, and translate needs into Workday configuration.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work with cross-functional teams and present technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Systems, or related field (preferred).
Preferred Attributes
- Experience with large-scale or multi-country Workday implementations.
- Familiarity with other Workday modules (e.g., Core HCM, Payroll, Talent).
- Experience supporting compensation-related audits and compliance processes.
- Relevant Workday certifications (e.g., Workday Pro Compensation).
