Job Overview

Roles & Responsibilities

1.         Hands on experience in working with MSSQL SERVER 2005, 2008

,2008R2,2012/2014/2016,2019 features

2.         Experience in database maintenance, Security, upgrading, and Performance Tuning.

3.         Database administration and management (capacity planning, installation, backup, recovery,

monitoring, Performance optimizations, troubleshooting, load/hardware analysis mapping, security

etc.).

4.         Extensive knowledge on Backup/Recovery of databases, and databases Maintenance Job

failures, connectivity, and performance issues.

5.         Hands-on experience in resolving locks deadlocks, handling Isolation levels and performance

issues like CPU, I\O, Memory bottlenecks.

6.         Experience in log shipping, Always-on and replication.

7.         Good knowledge of Windows cluster.

8.         Should be able to take complete ownership of the project/activities assigned to the DBA.

9.         Work with users and vendors to take timely and appropriate steps to resolve and troubleshoot

issues impacting service levels and conduct root cause analysis

10.       Query optimization and tuning skills, analysis and troubleshooting interactions between

databases, operating systems and applications with regard to performance and resources usage

11.       Collect and analyse database performance information; identify and implement solutions for

performance problems

12.       Support 24X 7 / rotational shifts.

Skills Required

•Experience in setting up and supporting database replication, mirroring, failover clustering

• Relevant working experience as an MS SQL Database Administrator in production environment

• Managing experience of MS SQL servers (2008, 2012, 2014, 2016,2019)

• Strong understanding in Database clustering techniques and operations

• Past working experience in Cloud environment is an advantage

• Able to handle demanding service response and recovery turnaround

• Able to manage daily support tasks to meet stringent SLA requirements

• Excellent scheduling and multitasking skills

• Meticulous and process-oriented

• Good, hard-working attitude with ability to work well under pressure

• Good communication skills English (written, spoken)

• Good analytical skills with ability to work with others to resolve problems.

• Good organization skills, with ability to properly document and track information.

• Preferably with Microsoft Certification and/or ITIL certification.
