This is a rare opportunity to launch and lead Eleving Group’s smartphone financing business in Tanzania - one of the newest and most dynamic markets in our East Africa region.
As a Head of Smartphone Financing, you will own the full business development lifecycle, driving product launch, establishing robust local operations, and building a high-performing team dedicated to making smartphones accessible to thousands of people. This role demands strong leadership to cultivate partnerships with telecoms, distributors, and retailers, foster collaboration across teams, and deliver ambitious growth and operational excellence.
NB: Relocation to Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) is required.
What you will need:
Proven track record in scaling operations in fast-growth environments.
Experience working with dealers, distributors, or large partner networks.
Strong stakeholder management.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution in a startup/scale-up environment.
Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Background in consumer finance, telecom, or mobility financing is a strong advantage.
What You will do:
Market & Strategy
Set up and manage smartphone financing operations in Tanzania.
Monitor market trends, competition, and customer behaviour.
Define a go-to-market strategy and identify scalable sales channels.
Partnerships & Sales
Build and maintain strong partnerships (dealers, distributors, phone brands).
Drive customer acquisition and onboarding processes, collaborating closely with IT and sales teams.
Design and implement marketing and promotional campaigns with the Marketing team.
Leadership & Product Development
Build, lead, and develop a high-performing local team.
Optimize product profitability and payment structures in collaboration with the Regional HQ.
Continuously experiment to identify what works best in the Tanzanian market.
