As a leader of the Disputes Operations function at Paystack, you will contribute to the business by presenting your technical expertise with a balanced approach to communication and a bias for action. You will be required to work with our leadership teams at all levels of the company to drive solutions that impact our platform for the good of Paystack and ultimately, our customers and stakeholders. You will leverage your experience across various tools and processes to establish policies and standards across the company.
What you’ll do
Paystack is looking for a dynamic and critical-thinking professional who can provide experienced support to the Treasury Manager and Treasury Lead as well as supervise junior team members, having a proven ability to work with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will need to be an independent, high-achieving individual, able to stand out in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. Paystack is a fast-growing company, expanding rapidly across Africa. This role will involve supporting our treasury operations as we scale.
Our Treasury team is responsible for daily treasury management, which includes building systems and processes to manage settlements, liquidity, processor receivables, and reconciliation, liaising with 3rd party providers (e.g., Banks), resolving merchant queries, and producing daily and monthly reporting as required. As a Treasury Specialist, you will own and manage many of these processes, which include regularly working with our partners and banks.
You should have an in-depth understanding of transactional payment processes, be solution-oriented, and apply a high level of rigour and attention to detail to your work. You should be able to multi-task and reprioritise workstreams according to rapidly changing developments, and have a strong sense of ownership and responsibility. This role is full-time and can be based in Nigeria or some of our expansion markets. You will report to our Treasury Manager.
What You’ll Be Doing
Liaise with Product, Engineering, other internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and accurate settlements.
Ensure exceptions in the settlement process are timely resolved.
Manage Financing - overdrafts, facilities and other credit agreements
Ensure compliance of internal controls and suggest process improvements as needed
Prepare custom reports to track key treasury metrics on a daily and monthly basis
Develop and implement Treasury policies, procedures, and controls
Perform reconciliation of cash flow and ensure exceptions are timely resolved.
Conduct a deep dive analysis addressing key business questions and presenting them to stakeholders
Managing third-party financial relationships.
Support overall department goals and objectives.
Fulfil other ad-hoc finance requests as requested by management.
Empower other team members with data, and investigate business questions
Who You Are
A few things we expect you should have to be able to meet the demands of the role include:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance or management
You have a minimum of 5 years of finance experience within a multinational business or a top-tier Investment Bank
You have the ability to turn large data sets into meaningful insights
You are highly proficient in MS Excel
You have fantastic written and spoken communication skills
You are able to work collaboratively across departmental functions
You have a strong knowledge of risk management and banking relationships
You have the appetite to jump headfirst into a fast-moving, fast-growing, mission-driven team that values creativity and output
A demonstrated ability to manage and deliver on multiple projects with a high attention to detail
