- Experience in handling automatic peptide synthesizer, Prep HPLC, Lyophilizer & other related instruments.
- Process Optimization & Scale-Up: Optimize existing peptide synthesis processes to improve efficiency, yield, and purity, and facilitate the scale-up of processes from lab to manufacturing/GMP scale.
- Impurities: hands-on experience in preparation and characterization of impurities in peptide molecules.
- Analysis and Characterization: Oversee and interpret analytical data from techniques such as HPLC, LC-MS, MALDI-TOF, and NMR to confirm product identity and purity.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical or synthetic challenges that arise during projects.
- Innovation: Stay current with the latest developments in peptide chemistry, including automation and computational methods (e.g., AI/ML in design), and integrate innovative solutions into workflows.
- Project Coordination: Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., analytical chemistry, technology transfer and manufacturing) to meet project goals.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all experimental work and data are accurately documented (often in eLN - electronic laboratory notebooks) and that operations comply with safety, Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
- Communication: Act as a primary technical contact for clients and internal stakeholders, providing regular updates and detailed scientific reports.
- Reports: To prepare and review reports such as safety, vendor qualification reports, process development, ACMI report, Nitrosamine assessment for customers
- Creativity: Contribute novel ideas by participating during technical discussion & motivating the team members
- EHS: To meet EHS expectations and guiding other members
- Presentations and Reviews: Preparation and sharing presentations for various reviews with internal and external customers.
- Proactiveness: Proactively advise and share knowledge and expert opinions with subordinates, peers, and senior management. Mentor staff in troubleshooting strategic and experimental issues.
- Stake holder management: The position involves multi-disciplinary interactions with organic chemists, analytical chemists, engineers, IP, Regulatory and program management.
- Continuous improvement: The candidate will identify and nurture ideas for continuous improvement activities and initiatives within the department.
🌟 Technical Competencies:
- Focus on peptide synthesis, literature search, developing and analyzing peptides (using LC-MS, and NMR), and its characterization.
- Must have handled Peptide Synthesizers (Manual/Automatic), Purification Using Preparative HPLC, Lyophilizer and must be aware about Membrane filtration process.
- Broader scope including technology development, cross-functional collaboration, and process optimization.
