This is a full-time salaried position and offers a solid base salary plus paid holidays, medical, and more. *Base salary dependent on experience, education, certifications and past performance. What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
• Assist with gap assessments against NIST SP 800-171 and related requirements (CMMC, DFARS).
• Draft and maintain compliance artifacts: SSP, POA&M, policies/standards, diagrams, asset inventories.
• Coordinate evidence collection from clients; validate quality and completeness.
• Track remediation tasks, risks, and issues; prepare status reports and client-ready deliverables.
• Support basic control testing (screenshots, configuration reviews, log samples) and note findings.
• Help operationalize security procedures (access reviews, change documentation, vendor due diligence).
• Manage Cybersecurity Awareness Training for our clients.
• Keep our internal templates current with evolving CMMC guidance and assessor feedback.
Nice to Have (Preferred)
• Basic familiarity with NIST SP 800-171 or NIST SP 800-53 (coursework, lab, internship, or practical exposure).
• Exposure to CMMC practices, DFARS 252.204-7012, or contractor assessments.
• Familiarity with security tooling (e.g., vulnerability scanners, SIEM/log exports) and basic PowerShell/Python is a plus.
• Prior MSP/consulting experience or client-facing support background.
• Military veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.
What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months)
• Completes CompTIA Security+ within 90 days.
• Delivers high-quality evidence and documentation that passes internal QA on the first review.
• Owns portions of client SSP/POA&M with minimal rework and clear version control.
• Demonstrates growing independence in assessments and client communications.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity (or related field) OR 2 plus years equivalent industry experience in IT/security/compliance.
CompTIA Security + certification or the ability to obtain it within 90 days or start (company-sponsored).
Strong written communication and documentation skills; proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, SharePoint/Teams).
Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with checklists, trackers, and evidence logs.
MUST be based in San Antonio, Texas, and a US citizen (no exceptions)
Valid Texas driver's license
Proof of automobile insurance is required
Reliable and suitable transportation that can be used as required to perform job duties, such as a car, SUV, or pickup. Motorcycles are not acceptable.
