Field Application Engineer, AI Systems & Solutions

Posted February 27, 2026

Job Overview

Tenstorrent is leading the industry on cutting-edge AI technology, revolutionizing performance expectations, ease of use, and cost efficiency. With AI redefining the computing paradigm, solutions must evolve to unify innovations in software models, compilers, platforms, networking, and semiconductors. Our diverse team of technologists have developed a high performance RISC-V CPU from scratch, and share a passion for AI and a deep desire to build the best AI platform possible. We value collaboration, curiosity, and a commitment to solving hard problems. We are growing our team and looking for contributors of all seniorities.

We are seeking a hands-on Hardware Field Application Engineer (FAE) to support deployment, bring-up, validation, and optimization of Tenstorrent AI systems in real customer data center environments. This is a customer-facing systems engineering role bridging hardware, firmware, drivers, networking, and infrastructure to ensure successful installations and production readiness. You will work directly with enterprise customers, research labs, and system integrators to debug complex issues, optimize system performance, and enable scalable AI deployments. As the technical owner of deployments, you will partner closely with internal hardware and software engineering teams to resolve issues, improve product quality, and translate field feedback into engineering improvements. You will serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout Americas and global deployments, helping customers successfully deploy and operate Tenstorrent Galaxy servers and AI infrastructure at scale.

This role is hybrid, based out of Santa Clara, CA or Austin, TX.

We welcome candidates at various experience levels for this role. During the interview process, candidates will be assessed for the appropriate level, and offers will align with that level, which may differ from the one in this posting.

Who You Are

  • A systems-level engineer with strong debugging instincts and a bias for hands-on problem solving.
  • Comfortable working across the stack — hardware, firmware, OS, drivers, networking, and workloads.
  • Experienced working directly with customers in technical environments (data centers, labs, integration facilities).
  • Able to isolate root causes in complex multi-layer issues rather than treating symptoms.
  • Clear communicator who can translate technical findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Self-driven and comfortable operating independently in field environments.
  • Excited to work with cutting-edge hardware and solve problems that don’t yet have documentation.

What We Need

  • Lead system bring-up, validation, and deployment of Tenstorrent AI hardware platforms in customer data centers, supporting installations from proof-of-concept through production scale-out.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues across hardware, firmware, Linux, networking, and infrastructure layers, driving resolution in partnership with internal engineering teams.
  • Work with customers to design, validate, and optimize system architectures including memory, networking, storage, rack layout, power, cooling, and runtime environments for AI and HPC workloads.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact during deployments and escalations, reproducing customer issues, managing technical risk, and providing structured feedback to improve product readiness and reliability.
  • Create deployment documentation, runbooks, and debug playbooks, and train customer and internal teams to ensure scalable, repeatable, and efficient data center deployments.

What You Will Learn

  • How real AI infrastructure is deployed and operated at scale.
  • Practical system-level debugging across full compute stacks.
  • Architecture and optimization of modern accelerator-based platforms.
  • Large-scale system validation and performance tuning techniques.
  • How hardware products evolve through real-world deployment feedback.
