Job Overview

Hello! We're Teya.

Teya is a payment and software service provider, headquartered in London serving small, local businesses across Europe. Founded in 2019, we build easy to use, integrated tools that enable our members to accept payments and boost business performance.

At Teya we believe small, local businesses are the lifeblood of our communities.

We’re here because we don’t believe there’s a level playing field that gives small businesses with a fighting chance against the giants of the high street.

We’re here because we see banks and legacy service providers making things harder for them. We don’t think the best technology or the best service should be reserved for those with the biggest headquarters.

We’re here to fight for a future where small, local businesses can thrive, and to commit the same dedication they offer all of us.

Become a part of our story.

We’re looking for exceptional talent to join our mission. We offer a chance to create impact in a high-energy and connected culture, while benefiting from continuous learning opportunities, a supportive community which is proud to serve our mission, and comprehensive benefits.

About the Role

We’re scaling rapidly here at Teya, and we’re looking for a People & Talent Lead to help us build the teams that make that growth happen. This role combines talent acquisition and hands-on people operations; you’ll spend around 70% of your time focused on recruiting world-class frontline talent across Sales, Customer Success, and Operations, and 30% on shaping the people foundations that help those teams perform and stay.

You’ll own hiring from end to end; understanding what great looks like, finding the people who can deliver it, and ensuring every new joiner ramps quickly and effectively. Alongside this, you’ll also support the People Partnering team on the day-to-day people experience, including onboarding, employee relations, performance, and engagement, helping managers lead well and teams run smoothly.

This is a full-stack role for someone who loves variety, thrives in pace, and wants to see tangible impact fast. You’ll be part of a small, high-impact People team that’s building the talent engine for a business growing across Europe.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own end-to-end recruitment for frontline teams across Sales, Customer Success, and Operations.

  • Partner with hiring managers to define what great looks like, build strong pipelines, and make confident, fast hiring decisions.

  • Build and optimise scalable hiring processes that maintain quality and candidate experience at speed.

  • Lead onboarding and early engagement, ensuring new hires are set up for success from day one.

  • Support People Partner and managers across various HR topics; from performance management to engagement, growth and culture, with practical, clear guidance.

  • Manage HR operations and employee lifecycle processes (contracts, changes, queries), supported by central People Ops.

  • Track hiring metrics, retention, and onboarding success, using insight to improve continuously.

  • Drive initiatives that strengthen our employer brand and tell a consistent story about what it means to work here.

Who You Are

  • You’re a recruiter at heart; you love the hunt, understand commercial roles, and know how to assess for drive, grit, and growth potential.

  • You’ve hired at pace for frontline or GTM teams, ideally in a fintech, SaaS, or high-growth business.

  • You’re hands-on and structured, able to manage volume while keeping a high bar for quality.

  • You bring curiosity, judgement, and pragmatism, you don’t wait for direction, you build what’s missing.

  • You’re approachable and credible with leaders and candidates alike.

  • You care deeply about what happens after hiring — how people perform, grow, and stay.

  • You have a passion for your work; you’re curious, commercially minded, and motivated by building environments where people and performance thrive.

Every stage of growth starts with the right people, and this role is at the centre of that. You’ll build the hiring engine that powers our commercial growth and the people systems that keep it running smoothly. It’s an opportunity to move fast, take ownership, and see your work directly shape how we grow.

Teya is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, or background can thrive and do their best work. We believe that a diverse team leads to better ideas, stronger outcomes, and a more supportive workplace for all.

If you require any reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process whether for interviews, assessments, or other parts of the application—we encourage you to let us know. We are committed to ensuring that every candidate has a fair and accessible experience with us.
