Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland has been undertaking a significant transformational programme looking at people experiences, process and technology. Transitioning from its legacy Human Resources applications to Workday. This transition requires the skills and support of an experienced Workday Specialist on a fixed-term basis (parental leave cover), as we now look to embed, enhance and support the Workday products in the University ecosystem.
This Workday subject matter expert (SME) position requires someone with sound knowledge and experience of the software functionality. As a Workday Specialist, you will be responsible for applying your understanding of the Workday products in a line of business to achieve value outcomes for the University. Your expertise ensures you’re aware of the attributes, characteristics and functions of Workday and business processes within your field.
The successful candidate is expected to have Workday configuration or implementation experience and knowledge and will preferably also have specialised knowledge in the Human Resources and adjacent business domains at an operational level.

Please note this is a full-time (37.5hours/week) 12-month fixed-term position, with a salary range of $150,000 - $170,000 depending on skills and experience.

The successful candidate will:
- Have 3+ years’ working with Workday in an implementation or configuration role
- Be an expert communicator at all levels and with a diverse audience
- Ideally hold a Certification in 1 or more HR Workday Modules
- Be confident in navigating the complexities of a large organisation

Reporting to the Solution Architecture Manager, your team will consist of other Workday Specialists and Digital Solutions Architects.

Its responsibilities are broad and its expertise and focus areas span product and service lines from provision of devices, seamless connectivity and collaboration services, supporting learning, teaching, research and administration with software-based solutions, high-performance computing, and supporting new learning and teaching delivery modes.
