Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead, mentor, and supervise DG specialists and coordinators.
- Allocate workloads, monitor performance, and ensure timely turnaround of DG bookings.
- Oversee leave planning, daily roster management, and escalation handling.
- Produce daily email advising port cut offs in line with NPDL policy
- Maintain vessel schedule within our hazardous software
- Run daily morning toolbox meeting
- Process dg requests
- Complete vessel port calls liaising with customer service /planners/ port authorities ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient handling of regulated cargo in accordance with the IMDG Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, local authority regulations, and company policies
B. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all DG bookings and declarations comply with current:
- IMDG Code
- MARPOL Annex III
- Local port authority and customs regulations
- Conduct quality checks on DG Declarations (DGD), Letters of Indemnity (LOI), Vanning Certificates, and supporting documents.
- Ensure NPDL prohibited list is adhered to
- Communicate with Neptune internal departments, 3rd Party Slot Partners and vessel command regarding compliance requirements
C. Operational Oversight
- Liaise with planners on stowage, segregation, deck restrictions, and special operations.
- Support vessel operations teams with DG manifest preparation and corrections.
- Ensure all stakeholders receive or have lodged approved dg documentation in a timely manner to ensure no delay in vessel exchange or penalties
- Handle escalations, disputes, and overrides when operational exceptions arise, working closely with Dangerous Good Manager
D. Incident Management & Safety
- Support investigations of DG-related incidents, leaks, misdeclarations, and non-compliance.
- Recommend preventive actions and process improvements.
