Full Stack Developer (React / Java / Python) – Tieto DevOps Space

About the Team & Product

You will join a small, highly skilled engineering team (currently 4 members) building Tieto DevOps Space, an infrastructure-management portal integrated with multiple cloud providers and SDLC tools.

The platform provides:

• Multi-cloud integration (OpenStack, UpCloud)
• Unified management of SDLC tools (Jira, Bitbucket, GitLab, Confluence, Artifactory, …)
• Role, access, and project/repository management
• Monthly invoice and cost-calculation capabilities
• A single pane of glass for managing servers, projects, repositories, tools, and automation

This is a platform used by a wide variety of Tieto customers and internal engineering teams across Europe.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer comfortable working across frontend and backend - React and Java (Spring Boot) and Python.

The role focuses on:

• Implementing new features across all parts of the system
• Improving platform maintainability
• Reducing technical debt
• Contributing to service-based architecture
• Taking ownership from problem definition → solution design → implementation → deployment

You will collaborate closely with the DevOps and Support teams and report to the Technical Lead.
The position also includes the opportunity to grow into a successor role for the current tech lead over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new features across the stack (React frontend + Java and Python backend)
• Design and implement integrations with external cloud and SDLC systems
• Contribute to architecture discussions and solution design
• Write ensure code quality across services
• Work independently on end-to-end feature delivery
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, demos)
• Lead daily standups and retrospectives (rotation-based)
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers on deployments and environment support
• Help mitigate technical debt and improve codebase maintainability

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of professional full-stack development experience
• Strong React, Java + Spring development experience
• Python development experience (or ability and willingness to learn)
• Experience working with PostgreSQL or other relational databases
• Familiarity with service-based architecture
• Experience with Docker and container-based development
• Comfortable working in Linux (Bash, common tools, troubleshooting)
• Czech OR Slovak speaker
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive features end-to-end
• Ability to contribute effectively in Agile teams and present completed work at demos

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Background with cloud integrations (OpenStack, UpCloud, or similar)
• Experience with SDLC tools integration (Jira, GitLab, Bitbucket, Confluence, Artifactory)
• Knowledge of CI/CD principles and tools (GitLab, Jenkins)
