What are the duties and responsibilities?
Clerical and Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to district personnel
- Answer telephone and transfer calls, providing quality customer service
- Greet school visitors – check in and direct according to school policies
- File documents
- Copy, scan and/or fax documents for school administrators
- Sort and deliver mail to proper location
- Work with continuous attention to detail in composing, typing and proofreading documents
- Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills and ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations
- Contact parents and/or guardians about student situations when necessary
- Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings and/or special events as assigned
- Other items as requested by school administrators
Facilities
- Facilitate the maintenance of office equipment, including copier, fax machine, etc. when necessary
- Facilitate routine and/or emergency maintenance of buildings through the building and grounds department when necessary
- Assist with conducting fire drills Serve as point of contact for staff, vendors and visitors in the absence of district personnel
What are the required qualifications?
- High school diploma is the minimum education requirement.
- Administrative/clerical experience preferred.
- Willingness to go through and pass the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week to get you started.
- Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods of time, as these happen throughout the eight-hour day.
- Ability to follow instructions, work collaboratively with a team, and adapt to changing situations.
- Understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements related to student information.
