What are the duties and responsibilities?
- Provide medical care to ill, injured students at GACTC according to list of standing orders provided by medical doctor
- Keep record of all services provided to students in computer charging software
- Fill out injury/accident reports when applicable on students injured at GACTC
- Order medical supplies when needed for nurse’s office
- Coordinate student medical orders/needs as needed with students' home school nurse and GACTC instructors, as permitted following confidentiality requirements
- Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings and/or special events as assigned
- Maintain confidentiality

Required Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
Work with children with disabilities
Follow verbal and written instructions
Communicate effectively
Maintain emotional control under stress
Must be able to bend and kneel, and push and lift student(s)
What are the required qualifications?
- Licensed Practical Nurse License or trained and competent for health and/or emergency delivery service.
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Knowledgeable in communicable diseases and symptoms of illness.
- Knowledgeable in emergency treatment and facilities available for referrals for life-threatening situations.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Willingness to go through and pass the required clearances and training to ensure the safety and security of our children, including: mandated reporter training, a physical, and TB test. This can typically be accomplished within a week to get you started.
- Physical, TB and Drug Test done within one year
- Mandated Reporter Certificate
