About Us
Togetherwork is a $250M recurring revenue SaaS business with more than 33 software applications serving over 12 vertical markets. We exist to help communities, organizations, and businesses thrive by delivering purpose-built software that meets their unique needs.
Many of our products were built over time across distributed teams and evolving standards. As we invest in long-term product quality, we are modernizing our applications to create clearer, more accessible, and more scalable user experiences.
With our headquarters on South Congress in Austin, TX, Togetherwork is entering a major hiring phase—building in-house product and engineering teams, strengthening collaboration, and defining how we design going forward. We value accountability, clarity, and thoughtful execution—and we expect our teams to raise the bar every day.
About This Role
Togetherwork is seeking a Product Designer to contribute to foundational product modernization efforts across our portfolio.
This is not a pixel-polishing role. This is a modernization role.
You will take ownership of defined product areas, improve complex workflows, and help strengthen design standards across products. You will collaborate closely with Product and Engineering, translating strategy and user insight into execution-ready work that improves clarity, usability, and accessibility.
You will operate in an environment where teams are being built, processes are maturing, and standards are still evolving. You’ll help shape how design works at Togetherwork while continuing to grow your own craft.
What You’ll Do
Product & Customer-Centered Modernization
- Own UX for defined features or product areas within the Togetherwork portfolio.
- Improve clarity, usability, and accessibility across legacy workflows.
- Identify friction through behavioral analytics (e.g., Pendo), qualitative feedback, and usability insights.
- Translate user needs and product strategy into clear user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
- Participate in modernization efforts that reduce complexity and improve structural interaction patterns.
Sprint Readiness & Delivery Enablement
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers from discovery through delivery.
- Prepare clear, well-defined design artifacts and documentation ahead of sprint execution.
- Ensure designs are practical, scalable, and maintainable within engineering constraints.
- Iterate based on structured feedback from senior designers and cross-functional partners.
Design Systems & Consistency
- Contribute to and maintain shared design system components.
- Apply established interaction patterns and reusable components correctly across products.
- Help reduce UI inconsistency while balancing product-specific needs with broader portfolio coherence.
- Refine components and patterns as needed in collaboration with other designers.
Modern Design Practice & AI-Enabled Workflows
- Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate research, exploration, and iteration.
- Experiment thoughtfully with generative UI tools, rapid prototyping workflows, and automation to improve personal and team velocity.
- Participate in design critiques and collaborative problem framing sessions.
- Contribute to raising the design bar through evidence-based decision-making.
What You’ll Bring
Experience
- 3–5 years of product design experience (SaaS or complex workflow-driven software preferred).
- Experience shipping features within agile product teams.
- Experience working in ambiguous or evolving environments.
Skills & Capabilities
- Strong portfolio demonstrating clear problem framing and thoughtful tradeoffs.
- Experience designing for complex workflows or multi-step interaction systems.
- Proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, libraries, and reusable patterns.
- Foundational understanding of design systems and scalable UX practices.
- Strong collaboration skills across Product and Engineering.
- Experience incorporating behavioral analytics and qualitative research into decision-making.
- Demonstrated experimentation with AI tools to improve research, exploration, or prototyping workflows.
- Solid understanding of usability principles and WCAG accessibility standards.
Mindset
- Systems-aware and product-minded—you think in flows and interaction architecture, not just screens.
- Comfortable operating in evolving environments where processes are still maturing.
- Curious, detail-oriented, and motivated to continuously improve complex software.
- Open to feedback and invested in growing within a structured design practice.
- Energized by in-person collaboration with product and engineering partners in Austin.
Why This Role Matters
- Impact: Help modernize complex software experiences used across diverse vertical markets.
- Execution: Translate modernization strategy into scalable, maintainable design work.
