Your Mission

We’re looking for an exceptional Head of Business Operations to manage marketplace health and strategic projects across the US & Canada. As Head of Business Operations, you will surface areas for improvement and work cross-functionally to develop and execute tactics and processes to drive performance, down to the hyperlocal level. While you will report directly to the Associate Director of Strategy & Operations, you will be part of the North America Leadership Team and work closely with the Vice President of Operations.

The role

  • Local Marketplace Health: Monitor marketplace health at the national and city level; surface opportunities to improve the balance of supply and demand, and collaborate with relevant departments to drive the right actions (e.g., increasing supply availability and/or quality, increasing user volumes and/or purchase frequency) in the right geographies
  • Cross-Functional Projects: Manage high-priority cross-functional projects with strategic implications for the business; take accountability for project outcomes, ensure delivery on critical project metrics, and keep stakeholders informed of progress
  • Local Strategy: Develop, communicate, and operationalize strategies that help Too Good To Go North America achieve its goals
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Synthesize quantitative and qualitative insights into concise, actionable recommendations that can be digested by leaders across the business; ensure analytical and operational rigor in our reporting and processes
  • Knowledge Sharing: Support knowledge and best practice sharing and implementation among local and global stakeholders; drive adoption of team knowledge base to ensure key processes are documented and shared across the organization
  • Business Planning: Support the development of operating forecasts and long-term business plans by partnering cross-functionally to model performance, identify key drivers, and inform strategic decision-making
  • Leadership: Manage a small but mighty team of Business Operations Managers & Specialists (currently 3 FTEs), and show up as a key leader across the North American business

We’re looking for

  • Significant work experience with demonstrated success in high-performance cultures (whether in consulting, investment banking, or strategy or operations at a high-growth marketplace/technology company)
  • An experienced people leader known for having honest, direct conversations to address performance and uphold a high standard
  • Proven track record of successfully leading complex projects, owning revenue or growth goals, and working cross-functionally in a fast-moving environment
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ownership mindset and proactive attitude to find and implement solutions for complex issues
  • Ability to build deep, trust-based relationships and collaborate with local and global stakeholders across departments
  • Inspiring, engaging, and motivating communicator – in person and online
  • Strong data retrieval, analytics, data visualization, and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficient with Excel/Google Sheets and PowerPoint/Google Slides
  • Experience with Salesforce (reports, dashboards), Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Looker), and SQL are a strong plus
  • Comfort with, and eagerness to use, AI tools to drive operational efficiency and speed up growth
  • You are based in (or willing to relocate to) New York City

What to expect from our hiring process

  • Step 1: Talent Acquisition Screening (30 minutes, virtual). A quick video chat to say hello, walk you through the role, and dive into your background. It’s a chance for us to get to know each other and see if there’s a mutual fit.
  • Step 2: Case Study & Technical Interview (60 minutes, virtual). You’ll start with a take-home assignment (you’ll have 5 business days to complete it at your own pace). Afterward, you’ll meet with Patrick Carpenter (Head of Business Operations) to present your work, talk through your problem-solving approach, and answer a few behavioral questions.
  • Step 3: Hiring Manager Interview (60 minutes, in-person). Next, you’ll head into our office to meet with Allie Denburg (Associate Director of Strategy & Operations). This is a deeper dive into your day-to-day skillset, your past experience, and how you approach the unique challenges of the role.
  • Step 4: Final & Culture Interview (45 minutes, virtual). Finally, you’ll wrap up with a conversation with Chris MacAulay (VP Operations, North America). This conversation will lean more toward leadership, alignment with our company values, and overall strategic vision.

A reasonable estimate of the range for new joiners for this role in the United States  is $150,000 - $180,000.
