Compensation: $22.00 - $27.00 (DOE)


The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring all products meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements within an AS9100 manufacturing environment.

This role goes beyond basic inspection - it requires the ability to interpret drawings and specifications, perform detailed inspections, and own quality documentation, including AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).

At CEPA, our products support critical aerospace and defense applications where precision, compliance, and traceability are non-negotiable. This role plays a key part in maintaining those standards and supporting a “do it right the first time” culture.

The ideal candidate is detail-driven, technically capable, and confident working with both physical product and documentation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection & Validation

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections on cable and wire harness assemblies
  • Verify compliance to customer drawings, specifications, and industry standards
  • Use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to validate product requirements
  • Identify and document non-conforming materials and products

Documentation & Compliance

  • Create, review, and maintain AS9100 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation in internal systems and customer portals (e.g., Net-Inspect)
  • Maintain traceability and proper recordkeeping in accordance with AS9100 standards
  • Support internal and external audits, including customer audits

Cross-Functional Support

  • Partner with production, engineering, and purchasing to clarify requirements and resolve quality issues
  • Communicate discrepancies, risks, and corrective actions clearly and promptly
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective action efforts

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve inspection processes, documentation accuracy, and workflow efficiency
  • Assist in strengthening quality systems and standard work practices
  • Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of quality control or inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Hands-on experience completing AS9100 FAIRs
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy under time constraints

Preferred

  • Experience in cable or wire harness manufacturing
  • Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 and/or J-STD-001 standards
  • Experience working in an AS9100-certified environment
  • Experience with Net-Inspect or similar customer compliance systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quality documentation systems
