TraceLink is looking for a security intern to join the Corporate Security and Product Security teams, working with experienced security professionals. As part of the Security team, you will be actively involved in various initiatives and ongoing projects related to the enterprise and our SaaS products services the life sciences industry. This includes but is not limited to assisting existing members in implementing security tooling, application security best practices, vulnerability assessment, and automating security activities for scale.

Responsibilities

  • Security Automation: Develop scripts and tools to automate manual activities like security scanning, evidence collection, and reporting.
  • Vulnerability Management: Assist in triaging, validating, and reproducing potential security flaws discovered through our internal scanners.
  • Tooling & Development: Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal security dashboards and custom internal tools.
  • Documentation: Contribute to our internal Security Knowledge Base (Wiki) to help educate engineering teams on secure coding practices.

Requirements

  • Security Mindset: A strong grasp of security fundamentals, including the OWASP Top 10 and the basics of how EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response) functions.
  • Coding Skills: Proficiency in Python or Java. You should be comfortable writing clean, functional scripts.
  • The Basics: A solid understanding of Windows, macOS, Linux/Unix environments and how computer networks actually work.
  • Cloud Awareness: A conceptual understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and containerization.

Desired Skills

  • Strong curiosity and eagerness to learn
  • Experience with Python development
  • Security certifications or relevant coursework/training
  • Ability to take initiative and ask thoughtful questions
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Willingness to learn new skills through self-study and on-the-job training
