Security Assurance Intern
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and curious Undergraduate Security Assurance Intern with an interest in cybersecurity and AI technologies. This role is ideal for a student who wants hands-on experience in security risk management while also exploring how AI agents can support and improve security processes.
You will work alongside experienced security professionals, contribute to real projects, and gain exposure to both traditional security practices and emerging AI tools. As a Security Assurance Intern:
What You’ll Do
Security Assurance Support
- Assist with basic security reviews and risk assessments.
- Help track and document security findings and remediation efforts.
- Support updates to security policies and documentation.
- Participate in internal compliance and audit preparation activities. (eg: ISO 42001, ISO 27001, ISO 27017, SOC2, SOC1 etc)
- Help maintain and update security metrics, KPIs, and dashboards to track risk posture, compliance status, and remediation progress.
- Help review vendor security questionnaires.
- Research security best practices and summarize findings.
AI & Automation Projects
- Help design and build simple AI agents to support security tasks (e.g., summarizing reports, organizing findings, answering policy questions).
- Assist in testing and improving AI-generated outputs.
- Research AI security risks such as data leakage or prompt misuse.
- Support development of small automation scripts in Python.
- Collaborate with team members to improve security workflows using AI tools.
Who You Are
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in:
- Cybersecurity
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- AI / Machine Learning
- Or a related field
- Basic understanding of:
- Cybersecurity fundamentals (confidentiality, integrity, availability, ISO, Risk Management Framework)
- Common security risks (e.g., phishing, weak passwords, vulnerabilities)
- Programming basics (preferably Python)
- Exposure (coursework or personal projects) in:
- AI or machine learning
- Prompt engineering or chatbot development
- APIs or automation scripting

- Willingness to learn new skills through self-study and on-the-job training
Desired Skills:
- Security certifications or relevant coursework/training
- Exposure to security frameworks or standards (e.g., ISMS, AI governance, Privacy, GDPR etc)
